More Crosswinds and Silly Weather
This is a week or so late, but I just wanted to mention that I managed to make it out flying in the crosswinds again and felt a lot more comfortable. There was a poor chap in the pattern up at Coeur d'Alene (KCOE) that sounded not all that comfortable with the radio. Probably a student from Felts or somewhere that has a tower so he wasn't used to self-announcing his position at a non-towered airport. Of course it's a bit the other way around for others. Those of us who learned at non-towered airports love to yak, but then feel unsure or think the controller is going to tell us every little thing we're supposed to do.
So now I am feeling a bit better about winds with the airplane, though it's been a couple weeks since I flew because the weather decided to change back again. I guess it can't decide if it's going to be spring or stay winter.
Though my Dad is still living with his driveway glacier in Spokane, we managed to get most of the snow melted around the Palouse, but then it got snowy/rainy for parts of the past 2 weeks. If they had enough patrons, the ski resorts could keep going for another month probably. I think dirt biking in the mountains is going to be pushed out till late June unless we get some really toasty spells. This whole global warming thing really sucks :P
One last thought...if you're reading this and you're not a search engine or a spam bot, please leave a comment so I know this isn't just going out into thin air :)
I know I have it set to make you "register", but without that I'd have bazillions of tons of Spam!
